| dust off the keys |

light shines into my eyes and i wake,
only to see the shimmering light that is day.
the rays shine in like golden blades,
tearing apart the shadows of grey.
as i sit up and wonder,
a touch on the keys asunder,
on a ledge of stone.
long has this place been left to dust,
now it's time to brush it off and start. |

and we laughed and laughed like it was the funniest. no bothers, no cares,
like standing at the edge of infinity, and wondering why? who? who said it never ends?
and there it is. the sun sets in your eyes and everything else around you wilts away,
and it's just you. just you gazing at you.
it beckons you like a summer nights breeze. one last sip and breaking it.
stepping over all that is, is infinity's end.
and you laughed and laughed like it was the funniest.
wondering why. who, who said infinity ever ends?
no one but the shards that lay behind. |
